i think you can login on the official forums signing through steam (on the black desert websites). if you’re logged in from there maybe you can buy your friend the game for them to play outside of steam but still get the items since you’d be logged into your steam account ? maybe other topics cover this question, or you could send the support a ticket to ask them …
