The desert isn’t a safe zone. Dying in the desert and reviving at the nearest safezone sends you miles away (see your own first point). Reviving at the nearest node as it is will send you hundreds of units away. This is bad. They want dying in the desert in general to be hugely punishing, and if you flag up and lose, then you rightly get punished.
It’s pretty funny, coming from all the boomers playing this old, dead game and being utterly terrible at it but thinking they’re good, even though they have no idea how to play their own classes. All of these problems combine into a situation where 95% of the time playing the game consists of miserable, repetitive, soul-draining grinding in extremely slow, boring, old dungeons and raids.
